I’ve been reading and collecting comics since the 1970’s. I’ve made comics, sold comics, promoted comics, I co-founded and direct an award for comics (The Joe Shuster Canadian Comic Book Creator Awards, est. 2004). I was CGC’s first director of Signature Series (2004 until 2010). I founded a convention (Paradise Comics Toronto Comicon), then I left it.
I opened a comic book store (The Comic Book Lounge + Gallery on College Street) in 2012, and then I closed it when our partners in the space decided to move on.
I was the Canadian comic guest coordinator for Fan Expo Canada and related events from 2007-2012.
Since 2015 I have been the lead Comics Coordinator for Fan Expo HQ and we have events in Toronto, Boston, Orlando, Vancouver, Dallas, Calgary, Edmonton, Denver, New Orleans, Chicago, St. Louis, Portland, Cleveland, Philadelphia and San Francisco. Altogether we produce about 17 events annually.
