The Comic Book Lounge + Gallery USED TO BE a business on College Street that took over from Dragon Lady Comics and Paper Nostalgia in February 2012. It was an active comic shop with regular industry events such as book launches, art shows and comic jams. We operated in a shared space with other businesses with similar global interests such as an art school, toy shop, printer and event space.
In May 2015 we opted not to renew the lease so CBL+G turned to providing online comic ordering and delivery services in the Greater Toronto Area until January 2016 at which point we shifted our customers who wished to continue over to ALL NEW COMICS for ordering while we still fulfill delivery services for the remaining CBL+G customers to this day.
In the fall of 2015 owner Kevin Boyd restructured the CBL into a consulting service where we provide services relating to the booking and management of comic creator guests for comic book conventions with one main client – Fan Expo HQ. Fan Expo HQ expanded during the pandemic and currently has 16 events across North America.
We do continue to offer additional services such as collection evaluation and brokering sales of collectibles for those who wish to sell and/or have loved ones who need advice on how best to sell the collections of their loved ones.
The CBL does occasionally set up tables at Greater Toronto Area events to sell off old inventory and collectibles.
